REDKEY/ALBANY – Lawrence Joseph "Joe" Doyle, age 71, passed away peacefully at home with his family beside him on Saturday, June 20, 2015. Born in Muncie on Sept. 24, 1943, he was the son of Carl A. and Rose E. (Springman) Doyle. A 1961 graduate of Selma High School, he lived between Redkey and Albany since 1977. A Heat Treater by trade, Joe retired from New Venture Gear in 2007. Joe was a Past Master of Anthony Lodge No. 171, F. & A.M., a member of the Sons of the American Legion, Dunkirk Elks, and U.A.W. He was a well known area golfer, especially at the Albany Golf Club.
Survivors include his wife of fifty years, Sandy Doyle, and their seven children: Jean Fultz (husband: Chris), Columbus, OH; Lawrence J. "Larry" Doyle, Jr. (wife: Anna), Ft. Worth, TX; Cindy Hines (husband: Ron), Muncie; Judy McDonald (husband: Doug), Canton, MI; Teresa Paquette (husband: Paul), Dunkirk; Jackie Davis (husband: Chad), Dunkirk; and David Doyle (wife: Kelli), Anderson; 17 grandchildren: Ben, Katie, Morgan and Jacob Fultz; Brandon Doyle; Brett Cross; Josh, Tiffany, Nathan, and JT Bullock; Bryce and Brooke McDonald; Alex Thompson; John and Matthew Paquette; Emma and Molly Davis; 1 great-granddaughter: Nevaeh Tiller; a brother: Carl R. Doyle, Muncie; three sisters: Marilyn Scott, Muncie; Marjorie Small (husband: Clyde), Parker City; and Janice May, Muncie; as well as many nieces & nephews.
He will be sadly missed by those who loved him including his best friend of sixty-one years, Bill McClain, and his caregiver, Nancy Henry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Charles R. Doyle, and a sister: Martha Cavanaugh.
Services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Dunkirk. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with Masonic rites at 8 p.m.
