Larry Joe Childers, age 64, Dunkirk, died Wednesday August 3, 2016, at Jay County Hospital following an illness.  Born in Logan County, West Virginia on April 23, 1952, he lived in Dunkirk most of his life.  He worked at Indiana Glass Company, Dunkirk, for over twenty-five years and was a member of Local 501.  Larry enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and watching NASCAR & football.

Survivors include a son: Larry Joe Williamson (wife: Hope), Chapmanville, WV; a daughter: Mitzi Wolfe (husband: David), Chapmanville, WV; two step-sons: Jeff Hitchens (wife: Karen), Dunkirk, and Jonathan Staton, Dunkirk; two brothers: Charles E. Childers, Jr. (wife: Reva), Tulsa, OK, and Thomas Childers (wife: Anita), Dunkirk; four grandchildren: Rylee & Ethan Williamson, Kaylee Wolfe, and Chris Stowers; six step grandchildren: Nick Folkerth, Kyle Hitchens, Allen Hitchens, Kya Staton, Gabriel Staton, and Gavin Staton; three step great-grandchildren: Kynleigh Folkerth, MaeLynn Folkerth, and Parker Hitchens.

His wife of thirty-four years, Jill L. (Mock) Childers, died July 24, 2016; also deceased are his parents: Charles & Susie Childers; a brother: Forrest Childers, and a sister: Geneva Blackburn.

Cremation was chosen with burial at a later date.
