Obituary

ALBANY – Larry G. Barker, age 70, Albany, died Friday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital following heart complications. Born in Muncie on December 6, 1939, he was the son of Charles & Nettie (Burns) Barker. He graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1957. Larry lived in Dunkirk before becoming a resident of Albany where he lived for several years. He retired from Maxon Corp., Muncie. In earlier years Larry enjoyed bowling, playing softball, go-cart racing, and was involved in Little League Baseball for several years. He attended Union Chapel Ministries, Muncie, and enjoyed gardening, motorcycling, and fishing with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his 4 children: Rick Barker, Indianapolis, Mark Barker (wife: Sally), Pendleton, Julie Wuthrich (husband: John), Yorktown, and Lori Barker, Muncie; 2 sisters: Betty Hilton, Port St. Lucie, FL, and Sue Chaney, Delray Beach, FL; 5 grandchildren: Nick, Emily, John Christian, Bronwyn, and Evan; also, his beloved dog, Sadie.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a son: Ronald Barker; a granddaughter: Alaina Wuthrich, and a brother: Robert Charles Barker.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday October 6, 2010, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany. Interment will take place at a later date.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to the American Heart Association.
