Julie Buckner, age 61, Dunkirk, died Tuesday June 17, 2025 at home with family following a brief illness. Born in Portland on March 10, 1964, she grew up in Dunkirk and was a 1982 graduate of Jay County High School. Julie worked several years as a front office assistant at the Albany Health Care clinic until its closing and afterwards worked for Dr. Carter in Albany.
She was a member of the Dunkirk Vol. Fire Dept. Women's Auxiliary and was a part of sorority in Dunkirk. Julie enjoyed tending to her flowers, crocheting & knitting, canning, taking family vacations including trips to Myrtle Beach, and boating. Above all else she adored her children and grandchildren and being a part of their lives.
Survivors include her husband of nearly 43 years, Greg Buckner, and their daughters: Mandi Roach (husband: Mike), Albany, and Dani Hughes (husband: Erret), Albany; parents: John and Kathy Crosbie, Dunkirk; sister: Jodi Landreth, Yorktown; brothers: Jason Phillips (wife: Sonja), Portland, J.C. Crosbie (wife: Karen), Dunkirk, and Adam Crosbie (wife: Honey), Elwood; grandchildren: Emma, Ethan, Gracie, Bradley, Braxton, and Tyler; father-in-law: Lyle Buckner, Dunkirk; brothers-in-law: Jeff Buckner, Dunkirk, and Tim Buckner (wife: Lisa), Muncie.
She is preceded in death by her father, Haskell Phillips; mother-in-law: Mary Buckner; brother-in-law: Mike Buckner, and her grandparents.
Memorial services will begin at 12 p.m. on Thursday June 26, 2025 at Meacham Funeral Service.
Visitation is Thursday from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to Little Red Door in memory of Julie.
