Juanita Sue Thurman, 79, Muncie, died Sunday April 24, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.  Born in Muncie November 14, 1942, she grew up in Muncie and was a 1960 graduate of Muncie Central High School.  Juanita worked at K-Mart for 20 years before retiring.  She attended area churches over the years, participated in a local T.O.P.S. group, and enjoyed gardening and working outdoors.

Survivors include her sister: Joyce (Quinton) Wooten (husband: Bob), Zephyrhills, FL; her caretaker and friend: Roy D. Hibbard, Muncie; sisters-in-law: Marti Quinton, Betty Thurman, and Magdalene Thurman along with several nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of nearly 50 years, James Thomas Thurman, who died in 2012; son: Andy Thurman; daughter: Eavey Ann Thurman; mother: Sylvia Klus; brother: Vernon Quinton; step-fathers: James "Red" Daniel and Bob Klus.

Services will be 11 a.m. Monday, May 2, 2022 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Black Cemetery.

Visiting hours are Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the funeral home.
