Joyce Garrett Grim, age 94, DeSoto, died Tuesday March 12, 2024 at Parker Health Care & Rehabilitation Center following an illness.  She was born at home in Delaware County on November 3, 1929, and grew up in Daleville.  Joyce was a graduate of Daleville High School and lived south of DeSoto for several years.  She retired from Indiana Michigan Power where she worked for over 40 years.  She attended DeSoto United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling including taking trips abroad.

Survivors include her daughter: Lu Ann Whitehair (husband: Richard), Albany; brothers: Joseph Mingle (wife: Carole), Zionsville, Duane Mingle (wife: Barbara), Middletown, and Robert Mingle (wife: Kay), Yorktown; sister: Marjorie Walker (husband: Larry), Yorktown; grandchildren: Brad Shroyer and Ryan Shroyer; great-grandchildren: Sophia Shroyer, Ali Shroyer, Jack Shroyer, and Barrett Shroyer.

She is preceded in death by husbands Robert G. Garrett in 1978 and Eugene A. Grim in 2019; parents: Arthur & Iris (Mowrey) Mingle; brother: Norman Mingle, and sisters: June Smith and (infant) Linda Kay Mingle.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2024 at Meacham Funeral Service with burial following at Elm Ridge Cemetery, Muncie.

Visiting hours are Friday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
