ALBANY – Janyce (Life) Bousman, age 91, Albany, passed away Sunday night at Albany Health Care following a short illness. Born in Randolph County on December 11, 1918, her parents were David M. and Pauline Life. She attended schools in Albany & DeSoto and was involved in politics for the Democrat party for several years. Janyce was a member of Albany United Methodist Church, Delco Remy Sympathy Club, Albany Home Ec. Club, and 20th Century Club. She was very thoughtful of others, often sending greeting cards to many friends and family members. She worked at Yorktown High School as a secretary to the principal for 13 years before retiring.
Survivors include 2 sons: Bill Bousman (wife: Sue), Yorktown, and Larry M. Bousman, Pahrump, NV; a daughter: Deborah Haddock, Albany; a sister: Norma Jean Selvey, Albany; 10 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, William "Bill" "Joe" Bousman, who died in 1997. Also deceased are her parents, a daughter: Sue Ann Cabbiness, and a sister: Phyllis Bowen.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 8, 2010, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 11-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
