Janet L. Vorhees, 79, formerly of Selma, died Saturday December 4, 2021 at Signature Healthcare of Muncie.  Born in Muncie March 19, 1942, she graduated from Albany High School with the class of 1960.  Janet was a homemaker who worked as a nurse's aid for several years in various Delaware County nursing homes and in earlier years worked briefly at Kerr Glass (now Ardagh), Dunkirk.

Survivors include two sons: Mike Vorhees (wife: Denise), Muncie, and Randy Vorhees, Selma; two daughters: Lisa Devine, Selma, and Karen Penny (husband: Dave), Carmel; six grandchildren: Kristin Devine, Kara Devine (significant other: Jeremy Anderson), Nikki Sewell, Timothy Sewell, Andrew Vorhees, and Austin Vorhees (wife: Taylor); one great-granddaughter: Kyla Araoz; nieces, nephews, special friend: Brent Devine, and several friends within the Amish community.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James A. "Jim" Vorhees, who died in 2011; a sister: Shirley Cline, and daughter-in-law: Wilma Vorhees.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, December 9, 2021 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Jones Cemetery, Yorktown.

Visiting hours are Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
