Rural Jay County resident James L. McGee, age 87, died Saturday November 9, 2024 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an illness.  Jim lived east of Powers for several years.  Born in Randolph County on May 30, 1937, he graduated from Winchester High School in 1955 and was a U.S. Army veteran.  Jim retired from Westinghouse (ABB) and enjoyed rummaging, working outdoors, and tinkering with tractors.

Survivors include his adult children: Lisa Harvey (husband: Rick), Portland, Kevin McGee, Ridgeville, and Michele Foster (husband: Jim), Dunkirk; 6 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, and his special friend: Ruth Fetter, Winchester.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Barbara E. McGee; parents: Chalmer & Ethel (Bost) McGee; grandson: Bradley James McGee, and sisters: Mildred Markle and Alta Younger.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday November 13, 2024 at Randolph Friends Church, 6531 N. 300 W., Ridgeville, IN 47380.  Visiting hours are from 10 until 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.
