YORKTOWN – James E. Harbison, age 33, Yorktown, died Sunday afternoon at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an illness. Born in Muncie on November 12, 1982, he grew up near Eaton and was a 2001 graduate of Delta High School. He worked at General Motors in Fort Wayne and DJ'ed on the weekends for Heartbreakers DJs from Haggerstown. He enjoyed being with friends, working on his vehicles, watching drag racing, and target shooting.
Survivors include his father, James "Jim" Harbison, Eaton; two brothers: Michael Harbison and Cary Harbison, both of Yorktown, and his grandfather: James Cox, Daleville.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lorie (Harvey) Harbison; paternal grandparents: Edward & Lucille Harbison, and maternal grandparents: Terrence Harvey and Martha Cox.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday, September 9, 2016, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany. Cremation will follow.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 5 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne, Ball Memorial Hospital, Muncie, or to the Reeve Foundation for spinal cord injury research at 636 Morris Turnpike, Suite 3A, Short Hills, NJ 07078.
