MUNCIE – Harold "Jake" Morris, age 91, Muncie, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2015, at home following a brief illness. Born in Muncie on June 6, 1924, he was the son of Jacob A. & Hazel (Toll) Morris. He grew up in Fairview and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He owned Morris Automotive in Muncie and did auto body work for several years. He also farmed in Delaware County and worked for Kraft Foods for 26 years. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church, Muncie, and enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending winter months in Okeechobee, Florida.
Survivors include his son, Craig Morris, Muncie; a sister: Betty Sue Morris, Hartford City, and numerous nieces & nephews extending to third generations who he loved dearly.
His parents and three sisters: Bessie E. Tighe, Mildred McGahey, and Magdalene Curts are deceased.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2015, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Jones Cemetery, Yorktown.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
