H. Arvilla "Peggy" Smith, 90 of Albany died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Albany Health and Rehabilitation Center after an extended illness.
Peggy was born September 29, 1921 in Waverly, IA and was the daughter of Harry C. and Verna (Derry) Dahlstrom. She married Willard A. Smith who preceded her in death in 1992.
Peggy had been a cafeteria employee at Ball State University and had retired as the Asst. Manager of the Albany Golf Club.
Survivors include her two daughters, Sheila K King and Gail L. (Terry L.) Rhoades both of Albany. A brother, Steven (Debbie) Dahlstrom of Albany. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Jennifer (Dan) Pike of Ridgeville and Matthew (Lyn) Rhoades of Muncie, two great-grandchildren, Katie and Cole Pike and Mati and Wilsen Rhoades.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Willard A Smith, three sisters, Billie Hobson, Ginger Smith and Lois Smith.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Friday, June 8, 2012 in Meacham Funeral Service, Albany with Rev. Neil Butcher officiating. Interment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Muncie.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday, June 7, 2012 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm and one hour prior to services on Friday.
The family requests memorials to the Albany United Methodist Church in care of the funeral home.
