Gladys E. Poore, age 85, Albany, died Sunday October 25, 2026 at Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Muncie on September 17, 1941, she grew up there and graduated from Harrison Township High School in 1959. She furthered her education by graduating from Indiana Business College, attending Ball State University, and receiving her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) credential from Ball Memorial Hospital nursing school. Gladys worked as an LPN at Ball Memorial Hospital, New Castle State Hospital, and last at the Pendleton Correctional Facility before retiring. Along with being a NASCAR and Colts fan, she enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles and crossword puzzles, gardening, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her daughter: Cathy Faunce (husband: Michael), Albany; half-sisters: Becky Yung and Susie Moloy; grandchildren: Whitney Burchfield (husband: Aaron) and Shayne Faunce (wife: Gabby); great-grandchildren: Logan, Scarlett, Maxwell, Hope, Amelia, and Vivian.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Billie (Bill) Poore, who died in 2018; granddaughter: Courtney Faunce; birth parents: Fred Cromwell and Katherine (Southworth) Lothridge; adoptive parents: Jeff & Gladys (Moore) Southworth, and half-sister: Darleen Prow.

Cremation will take place with burial at a later date in Tennessee.
