Floyd Williams, 90, Albany, died Friday January 23, 2026 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Born in Lebanon, MO on October 8, 1935, he moved to Indiana at age 9 and was a resident of Albany for several years. Floyd graduated from Dunkirk High School in 1953 and worked for Delco Battery for 38 years before retiring in 1993.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the U.A.W. and Retreads – a local motorcycle club. Besides motorcycling, Floyd enjoyed his usual coffee breaks to socialize with friends. In earlier years he golfed & bowled, and was a member of Albany Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Joyce (Eltzroth) Williams, and their daughters: Julie Williams (Ricky Rodriguez), FL, Terri Beatrice (husband: Bob), Redkey, and Amy Steed (husband: Jody), Redkey; brother: Richard Leroy "Shorty" Williams, Cleveland, OH; 9 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
He is preceded in death by a granddaughter: Brianna DiBattiste; parents: Francis & Eva Williams; brothers: Jerry Williams and Edgar Williams, and sisters: Pauline Elliott and Judy Hamilton.
Visitation is 4-6 p.m. on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Meacham Funeral Service followed by the funeral ceremony at 6 p.m. Burial will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Memorials may be sent to Brianna's Hope in honor of Floyd's granddaughter.
