October 14, 1934 – March 29, 2010
ALBANY – Floyd "Coxy" Cox, 75, Albany, died Monday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital. Floyd was born in Muncie and was a truck driver for several trucking companies including Craig Trucking and B&L Trucking before retiring from Highway Dispatch. He was a member of Parker Lodge No. 630, F. & A.M., Albany Lions Club, and a former member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows. He attended Bethel United Baptist Church and True Light Baptist Church, both in Muncie.
Survivors include 4 daughters: Connie Moles (husband: Russell), Dunkirk, Jackie Cox, Albany, Bettie Ashcraft (husband: Paul), Albany, and Sherrie Pence (husband: Jerry), Albany; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, a niece, and a nephew.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Robert & Norma Cox; a brother: Robert Leroy Cox, and 2 sisters: Anna May Gilbert and Wilma Irene Lamb.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday April 1, 2010, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Muncie.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home. Masonic rites will be given Wednesday evening at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Floyd's request was for memorials to be sent to Bethel United Baptist Church or True Light Baptist Church, both in Muncie.
