Flora Hauri, also known as Flo, died Wednesday September 13, 2023 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.  Born in Muncie on August 26, 1937, she was 86 years of age.  Flo was in the quail & pheasant business from her home just outside of Albany; she raised them and sold eggs for several years.

She was a devoted family caretaker, a member of White Chapel Congregational Christian Church, and once belonged to the Muncie Moose Lodge and the Rebekah Lodge – for over 50 years, in both Albany and Muncie.

Survivors include two daughters: Rosie Stettler (wife: Terry), Hillsborough, NC, and Jackie Stewart, Albany; step-son: Michael Hauri and step-daughter: Vicki Jeffers; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and several cousins.  Her first great-great-grandchild is due in January of 2024.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, James E. "Jim" Hauri who died in 2014; parents: Roy A. & Charlotte R. (Skinner) Nelson; grandson: James Lee Stewart; brother: Charles Nelson, and an infant sister: Susanne Nelson.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie.

Visiting hours are Tuesday from 12 until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
