Eugene Duncan, Jr. (Bo), age 72, Albany, died Tuesday July 23, 2024 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an illness. Born in Jamestown, TN on July 26, 1951, Bo grew up in Muncie and attended Muncie South High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran who served in the 82nd Airborne Division during the Vietnam War era. Following an honorable discharge, he went to work as a truck driver for Myers Welding Supply where he worked 14 years until the company sold. It was then he started his own business, Bo's Welding, that lasted over 20 years. He also drove a truck for the Indiana Department of Transportation for 10 years until retiring.
Bo enjoyed welding, farming, and helping his neighbors farm. He raised cattle, bailed hay, and loved to cut wood, attend barrel racing, collect guns, and attend his grandkids' sporting events. In earlier years he was involved with Boy Scouts and was a former assistant Scout Master.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Gaye E. (Sciscoe) Duncan; sons: Eugene Duncan III (wife: Robin), Muncie, and Doug Duncan (wife: Kim), Albany; daughters: Melissa Cox (husband: Jeff), Lafayette, and Betty Vaughn (husband: Chuck), Albany; sisters: Doris Gilreath (husband: David), England, and Loretta Richards (husband: John), Jamestown, TN; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, and many special friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Eugene Duncan, Sr. and Betty (McGhee) Caine; step-father: Norman Caine, and step-brother: Norman R. Caine.
Services are 1 p.m. Saturday, July 27, 2024 at White Chapel Congregational Christian Church, Albany, with Pastor Chris Carter officiating. Burial will follow at Strong Cemetery with military rites provided by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.
Visiting hours are Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the church.
