Obituary

ALBANY – Elnora Rees, age 91, Albany, died Monday afternoon at Albany Health & Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Dunkirk on May 20, 1924, she grew up in Redkey and was a resident of Albany most of her life.  She married James Earl Rees on Oct. 19, 1943, and was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.  In earlier years Elnora was active at Albany Christian Church and more recently was a part of her son's church, Word of Life Ministries.

Survivors include three sons: Michael Rees (wife: Pamela), Albany, Mitchell Rees (wife: Teresa), Hartford City, and Mark Rees (wife: Karen), Dunkirk; two daughters: Marsha Rees, Albany, and Michelle Franks (husband: Richard), Portland; a brother: Delnor Henry (wife: Penny), Albany; two sisters: Sandy Kaufman (husband: Charles), Dunkirk, and Letha Henry, Albany; also surviving are several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, James Earl Rees, who died in 1978; also deceased are her parents: Don & Alice Henry; two brothers: William and Virgil Henry, and three sisters: Alice Henry, Janet Henry, and Joan Henry.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday, March 10, 2016, at Meacham Funeral Service; her son, Pastor Mitchell Rees, will officiate.  Interment will take place at Gardens of Memory Cemetery; there will be no graveside service.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
