Ellna J. Hurt, age 96, died Thursday August 29, 2024 at her home in Marion.  Born in Indianapolis on July 17, 1928, she lived there several years and had lived in Columbus (IN) where she enjoyed living on Harrison Lake as a homemaker.  Ellna retired from Marian College in Indianapolis.

She was an active member of her church in Marion and Indianapolis.  She was a talented artist and seamstress and was a Literacy Program volunteer at her local library.

Survivors include sons: Darryl Hurt (Mary Ann), Albany, and Mark Hurt (Meg), Myrtle Beach, SC; daughter: Jan Huff (Keith), Marion; brother: Vernon Patrick, Jonesboro; grandchildren: Lindsay Peters (Fred), Michael Hurt (Ava LoFaro), Amy Marro (D.J.), Laura Simmons (Jon), and Lisa Bogan (Johnny); great-grandchildren: Tristan, Alcyon, Maverick, Roman, Eli, Emery, Aden, and Coen.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Ora & Allie (Scripture) Patrick and sisters: Marcie, Naomi, Norma, Lorene, and Pat.

Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at Floral Park Cemetery, Indianapolis.  Burial will follow.
