REDKEY – Eddie Johnson, age 53, Redkey, passed away Wednesday afternoon after a brief stay at Albany Health Care. Born in Union City, IN on Nov. 3, 1956, his parents were Tommy L. and Sarah L. Johnson. He attended school in Redkey and was the type of person that never met a stranger. He enjoyed helping others and tending to his garden. Eddie worked for Kevin Steen Delaware Quality Mobile Homes until 2008.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Cathy Johnson; a son: Joshua E. Johnson, Redkey; 6 brothers: Randy L. Johnson, Redkey, Tommy Joe Johnson (wife: Linda), Union City, OH, Donald Johnson, Albany, Rodney Johnson, Dunkirk, Bobby Johnson, Redkey, and Tony Johnson, ND; 2 sisters: Shawna Nelson (husband: John), Muncie, and Jennifer Doughty (husband: Jimmy), Dunkirk; 3 grandchildren: Hannah, Savannah, and Joshua Johnson, and several nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters: Sharon Johnson and Melody Johnson.

A memorial service will be conducted at 3 p.m. on Tuesday September 7, 2010, at Redkey United Methodist Church by Pastor Randy Davis. Visiting hours will be held from 1-3 p.m. at the church on Tuesday.
