DUNKIRK – Edna "Peg" Grogg, age 82, rural Dunkirk, died Saturday afternoon at home following a fourteen year battle against leukemia. She was born in Jay County, at home, on February 17, 1932. She retired from Armstrong Cork, Dunkirk, after working there 18 years. Peg was a Girl Scout leader for several years and at one time enjoyed square dancing.
She married Joseph M. "Joe" Grogg in 1956 and was a homemaker. Other survivors include a daughter: Waletta A. Burress (husband: Duane), Muncie; 2 sisters: Gladys Overla, Hartford City, and Madonna Gutshall (husband: Joe), Dunkirk; 6 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren (with one more due any day), and several nieces & nephews.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Russell & Edith Overla; 2 daughters: Connie Sue Grogg and Peggy Lou Curts; 2 brothers: Claude Overla & Robert Overla, and 2 sisters: Dorotha Maple & Esther Gillum.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at Dunkirk I.O.O.F. Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
