Edgar Lee Williams, age 84, Dunkirk, died Wednesday December 4, 2024 at Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Lebanon, Missouri on May 5, 1940, he grew up in Millgrove and played basketball at Dunkirk High School where he graduated with the class of 1958.  Edgar went to work at the glass factory (Armstrongs) and worked there 38 years before retiring in 1995 under Ball Corp. ownership.  He was a diehard Yankee fan and IU basketball.  In addition, he was a super fan of Jay County sporting events and enjoyed having horses and mowing lawns.

Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Karen (Wilmore) Williams, and their daughter: Beth Fuller (husband: Lonnie), Dunkirk; brothers: Floyd Williams (wife: Joyce), Albany, and Richard Leroy "Shorty" Williams who lives near Cleveland, OH; granddaughter: Charlotte Ahls, Seattle, WA and step-grandchildren: Catharine Klein (husband: Andrew), TX and Caroline Bruns (husband: James), TX.

He is preceded in death by parents: Francis & Eva (Barton) Williams; brother: Jerry Williams, and sisters: Pauline Elliott and Judith Hamilton.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, December 8, 2024 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Burial will be at Dunkirk I.O.O.F. Cemetery without graveside services.

Visiting hours are Sunday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
