Earl Jones, age 71, Dunkirk, passed away Saturday April 18, 2026 at The Waters of Dunkirk. Born in Marion on October 6, 1954, he grew up in Millgrove and lived in Reno, Nevada around 10 years before moving back to Indiana. Earl worked as a mechanic at various garages and salvage yards including Hough’s Auto Salvage in Bryant. He also worked in casinos repairing slot machines while living in Nevada.

Earl was an avid bowler at Crown City Lanes in Dunkirk. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids.

Survivors include his longtime companion/wife: Wanda Darr, Dunkirk; son: Joshua Darr (wife: Courtnie), Portland; grandchildren: Abigail Darr, Kiara Darr, Joshua Darr Jr., and Jerry Darr; brothers: Albert Jones, Dunkirk, Richard (Rick) Jones (wife: Carol), Dunkirk, Phillip Jones, Madison, and Kenneth Jones (wife: Jennifer Hyer), Dunkirk; sisters: Vickie Beavers, Dunkirk, and Betty Vaughn, Dunkirk.

He is preceded in death by sons: Jonathon Darr and Aaron Darr; parents: Henry & Nora (Croucher) Jones; brothers: Tom Jones, George Jones, Henry Robert (Bobby) Jones, James Arthur (Ark) Jones, and (infant) Walter Leroy Jones; sisters: Jane Wolf, Ann Marie Renaught, and Agnes Moore.

Cremation will take place, and there will be no public services.
