DUNKIRK – Douglas Robinette, age 47, former Dunkirk and Portland resident, died unexpectedly Monday June 26, 2017, in Indianapolis.  Born in Bluffton on April 14, 1970, he grew up in Dunkirk and was a 1988 graduate of Jay County High School.  Doug was known to many of his friends as "Vinny" and was recently employed by Delco Foods in Indianapolis.  He had an easy-going personality and was fun to be around.  Doug liked to fish and enjoyed horse racing and the Minnesota Vikings.

Survivors include his mother: Anita Childers (husband: Thomas), Dunkirk, and his father: John Robinette, Portland; a son: Logan Robinette; his girlfriend of 11 years: Tammy Cannon; a sister: Ashley and step-sister: Tuwanna; his maternal grandmother: Betty Peterson, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: Paul G. Peterson, paternal grandparents: Daniel & Margaret Robinette, and step-grandparents: Charles & Susie Childers.

No public services are planned at this time.  Cremation was chosen.
