ALBANY – Doug Perry, age 53, Albany, died unexpectedly on Friday, July 22, 2011, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Born in Peru, Indiana, he grew up in Kokomo and had lived in Georgia before moving to the Albany area. He was employed by Woods Edge, Muncie, where he was a maintenance supervisor. Doug had also worked for the Marion Housing Authority and Royal Flush Plumbing (Georgia). An avid fisherman and hunter, he was a former member of Bass Busters in Kokomo. He was a generous man, loving & caring, that enjoyed being with his family.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 23 years, Jackie Perry; a daughter: Erica Rostron Perry, Albany; 2 step-sons: Shane Dye (wife: Heather), Marion, and Aaron Dye, Kokomo; a step-daughter: Christa Smith, Marion; 3 brothers: David Perry, GA, Robert Perry (wife: Judy), Kokomo, and Mike Perry, Kokomo; 11 grandchildren: Hailey, Harmanee, Brayton, Tyler, Seth, Kirsti, Tori, Dylan, Shaun, Charlie, Meghan, and numerous nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert S. Perry, Sr. and Betty (Millican) Perry; also, a brother: Barry Perry.
A memorial service will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, July 26, 2011, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with visiting hours from 6-8 p.m. Cremation will take place.
