Douglas E. (Doug) Henry, age 59, Dunkirk, died unexpectedly on Thursday July 30, 2026 in Brazil, Indiana. Born in Hartford City on September 19, 1966, he grew up in Portland and attended Jay County High School. Doug worked for several years at the (Ardagh) glass factory in Dunkirk; he also enjoyed working at Coca-Cola in Portland until it’s closure and was employed last at Teal Automotive in Dunkirk. One of his favorite things to do was to sing and play the guitar.

Survivors include his mother: Shirley Long (husband: Richard), Dunkirk; brother: Gary (Jody) Long; sister: Paula Duncan, and nieces & nephews including: April (Kevin) Piercy, Jenny Milligan, Nathaniel Long, Hannah Long, and Hunter Henry.

He is preceded in death by his father: Donald L. Henry and brothers: Jeff Henry and Kevin Petschke.

In accordance with his wishes, cremation will take place, and there will be no public services.
