GREENWOOD – Doris Eyer, age 65, Greenwood, died Monday afternoon at home with family by her side. Born in Riverside, CA on Oct. 28, 1946, she moved to Indiana in 1969 and had lived in various cities including Dunkirk, Hartford City and Muncie before moving near Indianapolis. In early years Doris was involved with Civil Defense and C.B. radio – she was known by many as "Frosty". She also enjoyed camping and decorating cakes and even sold Avon at one time. She enjoyed playing Bingo and was an avid collector of anything having to do with owls.
Survivors include her husband of 48 years, Charles Eyer; 2 sons: Charles Eyer, Jr., Raleigh, NC and Jeff Eyer (wife: Cara), Puyallup, WA; 3 daughters: Rebecca Hall (husband: Sam), Charlotte, NC, Michelle Walls, Greenwood and Margaret Durato (husband: Matthew), Kokomo; her mother: Lorraine Smith, Riverside, CA; a brother: Richard Smith (wife: Joanne), Paradise, CA; 3 sisters: Betty Edelman (husband: Richard), AZ, Eileen Herrick (husband: Bob), Riverside, CA and Peggy Smith, AZ; 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her father: Justin Smith; a son: Michael, a daughter: Lorie and a sister: Jackie Whiteman.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Saturday Nov. 5, 2011 at Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Muncie. Burial will follow.
