MILLGROVE – Former Albany resident Dean Lehman, age 64, Millgrove (Blackford County), died Monday Jan. 28, 2013 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an illness. Born in Muncie on Dec. 24, 1948, he was the son of Wilbur D. and Thelma M. (Haffner) Lehman. Dean grew up in Albany and was a graduate of Albany High School in 1967. He joined the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. He was employed with Selking International in Muncie since 1998. Dean was a caring man, humble, and loved spending time with family. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include 2 sons: Barry Barger (wife: Doris) and Brad Barger (fiancé: Michelle Gregg), both of Dunkirk; 2 daughters: Belinda Stouder (fiancé: Brian York), Eaton, and Angie Morris (husband: Marc), Hartford City; 2 sisters: Patricia Weaver (husband: Bryan), Muncie and Pam Lehman, Indianapolis; 5 brothers: Robert Dale Lehman (wife: Beverly Jean), Albany, Gary W. Lehman (wife: Joyce), Muncie, William Lehman, Losantville, and Orval Lehman (wife: Barbara), Muncie; 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Karen S. Lehman, who died in 2011; also deceased are his parents, a brother: Donald Lehman, and a sister-in-law: Nancy Lehman.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, 2013, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, by Pastor Rusty Clements. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with military rites provided by Amvets Post 12, Muncie.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.
