IN LOVING MEMORY OF
David
Campbell
November 27, 1970 – October 3, 2015
On Saturday, October 3, 2015, we lost an amazing man, David Campbell, age 44.
David's fight to stay with us was undeniably the hardest fight he had ever fought. The love for his children, Logan and Ashliegh, will not be forgotten. Being called Papaw by Kaylana, Wyatt, Annabelle, and Aubree is one of his biggest joys. The love he shares with his wife, Tanya, is a true love story. They would have celebrated 25 loving years of marriage this year. The love for his parents, Gene and Carol, will remain in their hearts. His mother-in-law, Sandy, and brother-in-law, Wes, was a large part of his life. He was very proud to have Heather and Karina join our family as daughter-in-laws. He continued to stand by the Atlanta Braves even through all their "rebuilding" years (as he would say, there were many) and the bright orange he would wear in support of the Tennessee Volunteers, will always be remembered. The jokes and stories he told at times were priceless and would bring a smile.
David touched many lives by coaching baseball and softball for more than 20 years. He enjoyed working as a correctional officer. He enjoyed music, any music. He wanted to learn to play the banjo so he could sit on our front porch and play for neighbors. David will be missed by many; he knew no stranger and was willing to help any way he could. The lives he touched will never be the same.
"So I get back up, and I get up. And nothing will break me down. Fear, oh fear. And now fear, fear in itself can use you up and it breaks you down like you were never enough. And I used to fall. And now I breathe. Ask for more, if you're bitter still, ask Him to help you carry on." ---Fear, Blue October.
A celebration of David's life will be held with a gathering of his family and friends on November 8, 2015, at 2 pm at All Season's Banquet Facility in Albany.
