Cory Young, age 46, Westfield, died unexpectedly on Tuesday December 24, 2024 at home.  Born in Muncie on December 8, 1978, he grew up east of Albany and was a 1997 graduate of Monroe Central High School.  Cory graduated from Indiana University (Bloomington) in 2001 and received a Master of Business Administration degree from Anderson University in 2017.  He worked at Delta Faucet for 15 years, most recently as a Director of Program Management, and was employed at Guide Corporation in Anderson for 5 years.

Cory was a dedicated worker and an avid runner who enjoyed biking, and skydiving.  He was a woodworker and loved being outdoors, camping, and boating.  He was a huge animal lover and enjoyed traveling – including several trips overseas.

Survivors include his parents: Gary & Lois Young, Redkey (Fairview); brother: Jason Young (wife: Cathi), Frankton; sister: Nikki Bell (husband: Scott), Eaton; close friend: Eduardo Rico (wife: Janell), Westfield and godson: Ryder Evan Rico, Westfield; nieces: Brittney Young, Cassidy Bell, and Jenna Young; nephews: William Young, Owen Young, and his beloved great danes: Chilly & Uso.

He is preceded in death by infant siblings: Billy Lee Young and Kelly Ann Young; paternal grandparents: Billy Eugene & Mary Jane Young, and maternal grandparents: George Jacobs and Mildred Anderson.

Services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Meacham Funeral Service followed by a celebration of life at the Albany American Legion.

Visiting hours are Thursday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.  Casual dress is preferred.

Cremation will follow.
