ALBANY – Clifford E. "Cliff" Smith, Sr., age 73, Albany, died Wednesday May 17, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.  Born in Orgas, WV on Jan. 13, 1944, he moved to Indiana in 1964 and was a resident of Albany for several years.  Cliff worked at Indiana Glass, Dunkirk, for several years and retired from G&M Pet & Garden Center, Muncie.  He belonged to Old Country Church in Hartford City and enjoyed antiques and flea markets.

Survivors include two sons: Clifford E. Smith, Jr., Dunkirk, and Clinton E. Smith, Muncie; two daughters: Kathy Ralston (husband: Jasper), Muncie, and Kandy Johnson (husband: Sam), Oakville; two brothers: Alfred R. Smith, Sr. (wife: Karen), Seth, WV, and Robert Henry Smith, Seth, WV; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Golden E. & Mary (Massey) Smith; two brothers: Archie Lee Massey and Walter Smith; also, a sister: Shirley Ladd.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday June 2, 2017 at Old Country Church, Hartford City.
