DESOTO – Clara Orman, age 89, DeSoto, died Monday afternoon at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.  Born in Muncie on May 15, 1927, she grew up in Eaton and graduated from Eaton High School.  She was a homemaker and lived in Muncie before moving to DeSoto in 1954.  Clara was a member of DeSoto United Methodist Church for over sixty years and a longtime member of the Country Clubbers Home Ec. Club.  She also belonged to Crown City Squares, Daughters of the American Revolution, and B.P.W.  Her hobbies included knitting, crocheting, gardening, making & painting ceramics, and bird watching.  In earlier years she was an avid bowler and actively involved with Cub Scouts and Girl Scouts.

Survivors include three sons: Michael Bruce Orman (wife: Sherry), Indianapolis, Robin Orman, St. Paul, MN, and Mark Orman, Albany; a daughter: Sheri White, Ashland, OR; 7 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Malcolm Dean Orman, who died in 1995; her parents and a brother are also deceased.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date.  Cremation was chosen.
