Edward Charles (Chuck) Ondrejko, age 86, Albany, died peacefully Thursday, August 11, 2016, surrounded by family following a courageous battle with ALS.
He was born in Yukon, PA, on December 1, 1929. A proud veteran of the Army, Chuck served in Korea with the 3rd QM Company, 3rd Infantry Division, where he earned the Korean Service Medal, three Bronze Service Stars, and the United Nations Service Medal.
Following his service, Chuck moved to Muncie. An accomplished baseball and football player, he played on the Ball State University football team during his attendance there. Chuck later worked at Ontario Corporation, retiring from his position as a forge supervisor in 1985.
Chuck's favorite hobbies were aviation and golf. Over the years he owned and rebuilt several aircraft in addition to being involved in private commercial aviation. A member of Hickory Hills Golf Club, he was proud to have achieved six holes-in-one in his lifetime.
After over 40 years as a bachelor, he met and married Marie, embracing fully a new role as father and grandfather. He took joy in helping friends and family alike with a strong hand, a warm heart, and a wide smile.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 18 years, Marie Ondrejko; a sister: Helen Hensberger of Yukon, PA; three stepsons: Rick Bullock (wife: Terri) of Marion, Jeff Bullock (wife: Karen) of Albany, and Larry Bullock (wife: Heather) of Gaston; a stepdaughter: Marina Gill (husband: Steve) of Muncie; ten grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and a sister.

Services will be held at 5 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following the visiting hours. A private family committal service will be held at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
