ALBANY – Carolyn June Bishop, age 81, Muncie, died Saturday Aug. 17, 2013, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. Born in Albany on Oct. 7, 1931, she was the daughter of Mark E. and T. Violet (Marks) Coulter. She graduated from Albany High School in 1949 and was a homemaker. Carolyn lived in Daleville for 47 years and was a former member of Daleville United Methodist Church. She was a lifetime member of Order of The Eastern Star and in earlier years enjoyed playing the organ, calligraphy and playing Bingo.
Survivors include a son: Paul Mark Bishop (wife: Denise), Middletown; 2 daughters: Cheryl S. Gates (husband: Mike), Greenfield, and Debbie Bennett (husband: Jeff), Muncie; a step-son: Rodney L. Bishop (wife: Dianne), St. Louis, MO; a step-daughter: Rhea K. Moore (husband: Al), Chesterfield, MO; a sister-in-law: Barbara Coulter, Waynesville, NC; 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 2 nieces, and 3 nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Edgar L. Bishop, who died in 1999; her parents, and a brother: Myron "Barney" Coulter.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Strong Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
