Carlis W. Ferguson, age 86, formerly of Muncie, died Saturday August 2, 2025 in Greentown where he lived the past nine years with his daughter. Born in Morehead, Kentucky on July 28, 1939, he moved to Indiana at a young age. Carlis worked at Dyn-America for 17 years before retiring in 2007 and prior to that worked at Marhoeffer's until it's closure.
Carlis was a member of Bethel United Baptist Church in Muncie where he practiced God & family first. He was successful in drag strip racing his 1965 Corvette during the late 1960s, winning Top Eliminator in three different states.
Survivors include a son: David Ferguson; daughter: Karla Littrell (husband: Craig); brother: Glenn Ferguson; five grandchildren: Kayleigh Lindsay, Ryan Lindsay, Tytan Ferguson, Nadilynn Ferguson, and Obrianna Morris; one great-grandchild: Kennedy Cohen.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Donna (Miller) Ferguson, who died in 2007; parents: Ernest & Maude (Gilkison) Ferguson, and an infant sister.
Visiting hours are Friday August 8, 2025 from 12 until 2 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow with graveside ceremony at Strong Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital.
