ALBANY – Billie M. Myers, longtime resident of Delaware County, died Wednesday morning at Albany Health Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was 85. Born in Burkesville, KY, she moved to Albany in 1961 and was a homemaker. She was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Albany, and enjoyed quilting by hand.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, H.P. Myers, and their two sons: Randy Myers (wife: Sandra), Carmel, and Terry Myers (wife: Peggy), Carmel; 4 sisters: Zelma Higginbothem, Louisville, KY, Betty Clark, Birdstown, TN, Eloise Stalcup (husband: Lyle), Burkesville, KY, and Patsy Melton (husband: Roy "Cubby"), Louisville, KY; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William M. & Zola M. Davis; 2 brothers: Kenny and Cordis Davis, and a sister: Birdy Scott.
Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Black Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 12 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
