ALBANY – Beverly A. (Sanders) Jarvis, age 63, Albany, died Thursday afternoon at Ball Memorial Hospital following a prolonged illness. Born in Portland on February 24, 1948, she was a graduate of Portland High School; she lived in Jay County until moving to Albany in 1966 when she married Tom Jarvis, who survives. Beverly retired in 2009 after working 21 years at Ball Memorial Hospital as an environmental technician; prior to that she had worked at Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of Ball State Sympathy Club and a former member of Albany Tri Kappa sorority. She enjoyed hummingbirds, family heirlooms, and playing cards. She also enjoyed cooking and was known for her family famous lasagna.

Survivors include her husband of 44 years, James T. "Tom" Jarvis, and their son: Mark Jarvis (wife: Jacinda), Albany; 3 brothers: James Sanders (wife: Sue), Portland, Junior Sanders (wife: Judy), Portland, and Paul Sanders (wife: Jackie), Ft. Wayne. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, and her beloved dog, Sally.

Her parents, Meredith & Genevieve Sanders, are deceased.

A service to celebrate Beverly's life will be held on a date that will be published in the near future. There will no viewing hours; cremation will take place.
