Beverly R. (Fisher) Flowers, age 83, died Tuesday November 26, 2024 at the home of her son in Dunkirk.  Born in Muncie on March 11, 1941, she grew up in Dunkirk and was a 1959 graduate of Dunkirk High School.  She received a Masters degree from Ball State Teachers College and was a school teacher for 40 years before retiring in 2002 from Westlawn Elementary School and the Jay School Corporation.  Following retirement, she lived in Ft. Myers, FL for 16 years until moving back to Dunkirk in 2021.

Beverly spent many years attending Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church where she played piano and sang in the choir and was attending last at Union Chapel Ministries.  She was a member of the Dunkirk Fire Department Women's Auxiliary and belonged to the teacher's union.  In addition, she enjoyed sewing, quilting, knitting, needlepoint, reading, baking and cake decorating.

Survivors include her adult children: Tracey Leffler (husband: Matthew), Yorktown, Mike Flowers, Jr. (wife: Angel), Dunkirk, David Flowers (wife: Kiera), Muncie, and Kim Ackerman (husband: Adam), Fishers; 14 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren with one on the way.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Michael L. Flowers, Sr., who died in 2022; grandchildren: Gabriel & Alexander Ackerman; parents: David "Slim" & Maxine (Wright) Fisher, and a brother: David T. "Ted" Fisher.

The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Meacham Funeral Service with burial following at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Visiting hours are Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
