Obituary

DESOTO – Betty Fager, age 89, DeSoto, died Thursday night at Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Niles Township on February 21, 1926, she was the daughter of Milo & Velara (Hartzell) Stafford.  She graduated from Eaton High School and was a bus driver for Delaware Community School Corporation for several years before retiring.  She also sewed for Rivars over the years.  Betty was a long time member of DeSoto United Methodist Church where she belonged to the D.M.A. group.  She was a member of Central Indiana Old Car Club, Delaware County Home Ec. Club and enjoyed sewing & gardening.

Surviving are her children: Kenny Fager (wife: Carol), Dunkirk, Larry Fager (wife: Karen), Albany, and Fred Fager (wife: Jane), Albany; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Marvin Fager; a daughter: Linda Bisel; her parents, 3 brothers: Johnny, Hubert, and Max Stafford, 2 sisters: Doris Frederick and Geraldine Hardland.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2015, at DeSoto United Methodist Church with burial following at Union Cemetery, DeSoto.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church.
