ALBANY – Bessie E. Tighe, age 96, Albany, died Monday, Dec. 16, 2013, at Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center.  Born in Delaware Co. on Nov. 23, 1917, she graduated from Green Township High School and was a homemaker.  She was a former member of Rebecah Lodge, Albany, and American Legion Auxiliary, Albany.

Survivors include her brother: Harold Morris (wife: Charline, deceased), Muncie; a sister: Betty Sue Morris, Hartford City, and several nieces & nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Leland J. Tighe, who died in 2002; also deceased is her daughter, Rita Kay Tighe (1998), and her parents.

Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday Dec. 19, 2013, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.

Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Thursday at the funeral home.
