Barbara Lynn (Kelsey) Adams, age 59, Dunkirk, passed away on Saturday April 4, 2026 at home from natural causes. Born in Morehead, Kentucky on January 13, 1967, she moved to Jay County as a young girl and was a lifelong resident of Dunkirk.

Barbara enjoyed walking, dancing, playing music, and hanging out with family including her son, Ryan. She will be missed by those who knew her.

Survivors include a son: Ryan Parfitt, Dunkirk; daughters: Brittany Kelsey, Hartford City, Desiree Parfitt, Indianapolis, and Tiffany Parfitt, Odon (IN); grandchildren: Aileanah Paul, C.J. Salyer, and Oliver Salyer; brothers: Robert Kelsey, KY, and Carl Blumenhorst, Jr., IN; and sister: Connie Kelsey (Jay), Dunkirk.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Cecil Kelsey and Linda (Lykins) Hough; her son: Travis Kelsey, step-dad: Carl Blumenhorst, Sr.; paternal grandmother: Zona Kelsey, and maternal grandparents: Avery & Hazel Lykins.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be held from 2 until 4 p.m. on Saturday April 11, 2026 at Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church in Dunkirk. Pastor Scott McClain will officiate.
