MARION – Baneeta F. "Bonnie" (St. John) Said, age 96, Marion, went to be with The Lord Saturday evening at Lutheran Hospital, Ft. Wayne. Born in Greenville, Ohio on August 20, 1915, she graduated from Green Township High School in 1933 and was a resident of Albany for several years before moving to Marion six years ago. Baneeta retired in 1978 from Indiana Glass, Dunkirk, after working there 19 years. As an accomplished pianist she gave piano lessons in Albany until 2004 and remained very proud of her students. She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church where she was Pianist and over the years belonged to Ivy Rebecah Lodge, Anderson, Order of The Eastern Star - Halfway Chapter, Redkey (50 year member), and Delaware County Teachers & Federation Music Association.
Survivors include 2 sons: Larry A. St. John (wife: Carol), Matthews, NC, and Ara E. St. John (wife: Jean), Sweetser; a step-daughter: Charlotte Ann Nelson, Albany; 5 grandchildren, 5 step grandchildren, and several great grandchildren, step great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her first husband: Harold Arthur "Bill" St. John (1961), her second husband: Charles O. Said (1986); her parents: Joseph & Mollie Dull; a brother: Harold Dull and a sister: Leora Rhoadehamel Corwin.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with Pastor Sharon Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 11-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
