ALBANY – Andy Thurman, age 55, Albany, died unexpectedly on Sunday October 1, 2017 at home.  Born in Muncie on December 29, 1961, he grew up in Delaware County and was a 1980 graduate of Delta High School.  Andy was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was a machinist by trade.  He was an award winning photographer who enjoyed nature, fishing, and hunting.  He belonged to the Muncie Photography Club and spent the past five years as a caregiver to his mother.

Survivors include his mother, Juanita Thurman (husband: James, deceased), aunts, uncles, and several cousins.  His father: James T. Thurman, birth mother: Willie Thurman, and sister: Eavey Ann Thurman are deceased.

Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Black Cemetery with military rites provided by Veterans of Delaware County Honor Guard.

Visiting hours will be held on Saturday from 1 until 3 p.m. at the funeral home.
