ALBANY – Amy (DeHaven) Grove of Albany died Friday May 3, 2013 at Albany Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was 100 years of age. Born in Delaware County on Feb. 18, 1913, she was the daughter of Jesse & Naomi DeHaven. Amy graduated from Albany High School in 1931 and was a homemaker. A lifelong member of White Chapel Congregational Christian Church, she was active in the Ladies Aid group and enjoyed quilting, puzzles, needlework, and family.
Survivors include her son: Phil D. Grove, Sr. (wife: Janet), Albany; 3 daughters: Charlotte Powers (husband: Cleo), Albany, Janice Summers (husband: Bill), Corpus Christi, TX, and Marsha Tarr (husband: Larry), Albany; 10 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, and several nieces & nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Grove, who died in 1979; her parents, 3 brothers: Ray, Jim, and Marcell DeHaven; also, 2 sisters: Edith Walburn and Sylvia Grove.
Services will begin at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at White Chapel Congregational Christian Church, rural Albany, with burial following at Strong Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday at the church.
