ALBANY – Margaret E. Bow, age 89, Albany, died Saturday April 7, 2018 at Albany Health Care & Rehabilitation Center. Born in Logansport on Sept. 29, 1928, she was a 1946 graduate of Royal Center High School and a 1949 graduate of Ball Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Margaret worked as a nurse for Dr. Stewart Brown, Albany, and Dr. Emory Hall, Dunkirk. She was also head of the medical department at Indiana Glass, Dunkirk, for twelve years before retiring in 1991. She was a member of Pisgah Christian Church, Logansport, and attended Albany United Methodist Church. Over the years Margaret volunteered at Albany Health Care and AUMC Resale Shop – of which she helped establish. She was an avid gardener and a basketball fan of the Pacers, Butler, and IU.
Survivors include her sons: Charles A. “Chuck” Bow (wife: Susan), Albany, and Leon E. “Chip” Bow (Tanya), Muncie; a brother: Robert Barr (wife: Sharon), Logansport; two sisters: Dorothy Packard (husband: Dale), Logansport, and Lucille Berkshire (husband: Gerald), Logansport; five grandchildren: Jamie, Justin (Morgan), Bryce (Tabitha), Jessica (Jordan), and Zac (Cara); six great-grandchildren, several nieces & nephews, and three special neighbors: Bessie White, Mary & Dick Love, and Marge Cross.
She is preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Charles E. Bow, who died in 1989, and her parents, Robert & Hattie (Ross) Barr.
Services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Meacham Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4 until 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
