It is with great sadness that the family of Janet Amundson announces her passing after a sudden illness Friday, May 11, 2018 at the age of 65 years. Born in Lafayette on Aug. 30, 1952, she attended Albany High School and studied Surgical Technology at Ball Memorial Hospital. Janet lived most of her life in Jay County and had been a resident of Farmland for the past two years. She was employed by IU Health Jay Co. Hospital, Portland, and was an accomplished writer/author with three books in publication. Her inspirational mentoring revolved around her faith in Jesus; her favorite verse was Romans 8:28. A love of crafts and jewelry making evolved into the establishment of her own business, All Things Together. Janet loved life and had a deep love for family and all of those who surrounded her. Janet was a longtime caregiver, and provided spiritual guidance to many. She consistently put others’ needs before herself. She was a lovable soul with a heart of gold.
Janet will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 15 years, Jack Amundson; two sons: Robert Dwight Williams, Jr. (wife: Faith), Columbus, IN, and Jake Williams (wife: Mary), Redkey, IN; three step-daughters who live in Washington: Tammy Amundson, Sandi Amundson, and Kelli Amundson; also, 11 grandchildren: Eaven Ruthanne Williams, Lou Williams, Ryan Harris, David Harris, Travis Harris, Marissa Amundson, Selena Amundson, Blake Eide, Shelby Eide, Robert Folkman, and Hannah Folkman.
She is preceded in death by her father: Howard Keller, mother: Josephine Brown, and a special aunt: Betty Newnum.
A celebration of Janet’s life will be held on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at Fairview United Methodist Church, east of Albany. Family will receive visitors from 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m., with the services being held at noon. A meal will be provided by the church following services.
