Donald Johnson Obituary

Donald “Duck” Johnson, age 57, Albany, died Friday June 29, 2018 at home following a brief illness.  Born in Union City, IN on Nov. 20, 1960, he grew up in the Albany & Redkey area and attended Jay County High School.  Duck worked for Kevin Steen Delaware County Quality Mobile Homes for 25 years doing construction and was a member of American Legion Post 167, Albany.  He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, cornhole, and going to the casino; he would help anybody in need.  His favorite country artists were George Jones and Johnny Cash.

Survivors include a daughter: Kelsey Southworth, Albany; two brothers: Randy Johnson, Redkey, and Tommy Joe Johnson, Winchester; two sisters: Shawna Nelson (husband: John), Muncie, and Jennifer Doughty, Albany; also, several nieces & nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Tommy L. & Sarah L. (Henry) Johnson; four brothers: Rodney Johnson, Anthony Johnson, Edward Johnson, Robert Johnson, and two sisters: Sharon Johnson and Melody Ruthann Johnson.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at Hill Crest Cemetery, Redkey.

Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 12 until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.

Memorials may be sent to American Legion Post 167, 128 W. State St., Albany, IN 47320.
