William “Bill” Conn, 88, Albany, died Sunday March 24, 2024 at Westminster Village in Muncie. Born in Union City, Indiana on October 28, 1935, Bill grew up in Albany and was a 1953 graduate of Albany High School. He was Transportation Manager at Ball Corporation in Muncie before retiring in 1998 after working there 32 years. He also worked for Craig Trucking in Albany.
Bill was a member of Albany United Methodist Church and Albany Lions Club. He was a former Albany Town Court Judge and served multiple terms as Clerk-Treasurer for the Town of Albany. Bill was a Cardinal Greenway volunteer and a 19-year blood donor; he was a hard worker and enjoyed being outdoors, spending time at Lake Tippecanoe, and attending events involving his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his daughters: Lynn Liggett (husband: Steve), Albany, Laura Scott (husband: Mark), Shelbyville, and Leslie Davis (husband: Jeff), Albany; 8 grandchildren: Quinn Liggett, Becca Lindley (Zach), Celeste Tetrault (Lucas), August Clevenger (Bob), Blayre Scott, Connor Davis, Collin Scott, and Alex Davis; 4 great-grandchildren: Jacik, Chancery, Colton, and Cameron; brother-in-law: Jim Hobson, Albany, and several nieces & nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Maribel Conn, who died in 2018; his parents, Alfred & Ruth (Gamester) Conn are also deceased.
Services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Meacham Funeral Service with burial following at Black Cemetery. Rev. Deb Davis will officiate.
Visiting hours are Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
