Larry A. Besser

Larry A. Besser, 75, Muncie, died Wednesday April 3, 2024 at Signature Healthcare of Muncie.  Born in Anderson on July 15, 1948, Larry grew up in the Gaston/Eaton area and was a 1966 graduate of Eaton High School.  He served in the U.S. Army National Guard during the Vietnam War and retired in 2014 from TomKen Tool, Muncie, after working there 28 years.  He was a member of Union Chapel Ministries, the National Rifle Association, Monroe Township Conservation Club, and Daleville Skeet & Trap Club.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Pamela Sue (Flesher) Besser; sons: Eric Alan Besser (wife: Cher), Woodland Park, CO, and Jason Alan Besser (wife: Laura), Wilmington, OH; daughters: Kristy Michelle Finley, Muncie, and Stacy Marie Phillips, Carmel; sister: Sherry Kaye Delk (husband: Dan), Albany; grandchildren: Clayton Phillips (fiancé: Carly Roberts), Luke Besser, Zach Phillips, Adrienne Besser, Jesse Phillips, Coen Besser, and Grace Niehoff; his first great-grandchild, Samuel, is due in August of this year.

He is preceded in death by a son: Rex Alan Tingley Besser; parents, Wendell Floyd “Bud” Besser and Betty Jean (Cheesman) Parker, and brother: Roger Lee Besser.

Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Meacham Funeral Service.  Burial will follow at I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Hartford City, with military rites.

Visiting hours are Saturday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
