DUNKIRK – Vivian (Hummer) Salmon, age 85, Dunkirk, died Saturday morning at Ball Memorial Hospital. Vivian was born in Dunkirk and attended schools there. She worked for over 40 years at Indiana Glass before retiring in 1986. She belonged to the Dunkirk Moose Lodge and was a former secretary of the glass workers union.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, William Salmon; her children: Rita Jones (husband: Richard), Cape Coral, FL, and Tee Salmon (wife: Lucrecia), Indianapolis; 4 grandchildren: Richard Jones, Jr. (wife: Jennifer), Pulaski, TN, Kimberly Shrack (husband: Mark), Zionsville, Rebecca McElfresh (husband: Michael), Mooresville, NC, and Marnie Vance (husband: Dan), Sierra Vista, AZ; 11 great-grandchildren, and 4 nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy & Gladys Hummer; a brother: Bill Hummer, and a sister: Maxine Salmon.
Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, February 9, 2010, at Meacham Funeral Service, Albany, with burial following at Gardens of Memory Cemetery.
Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 12-2 p.m. at the funeral home.
